"I Draw Dead People" 2

So a couple of weeks back I visited the Medical Science Department at Newcastle University for the second year in a row with my course where we did studies of the bodies donated to science. This was in the hopes that this would improve our understanding of human anatomy.

Once again this was a worth while experience that I would recommend to any budding artist if they are given the chance.

Final Project Feedback #1

Here's some more uni work from my concept drawing class.

It was drawn in rought with pencil then totally inked by brush and then finally coloured in with water colour paints.

2012 Summer Catch Up!

So it is nearly the end of summer and the begining of a new term of uni for me and I felt like showing something I've been working on during the summer in my little free time.

One of the things I have been doing a lot of recenlty are different studies of Frank Frazetta's work, so much so it is has become an influence for a painting I'm currently working on. Here is on of the pencil studies on bristal board currently in the works.

"I Draw Dead People"

Yesterday myself and few others from my course visited the Medical Science Department at Newcastle University where we drew studies of people who had donated their bodies to medical science.

Getting past the point that I spent just under 5 hours around the dead, I really enjoyed this exercise as it was something that the old masters pioneered, and I would recommend it who can keep a level head (don't worry nothing is slimy).

As per the rules none of these drawing include eyes as respect to living relatives.

Self Portrait: Ink (Brush)

Haven't done much personal work recently, but I had been started this self portrait last week with the intention of going old school and ink it with a brush. unfortunately I needed new inks and didn't get round to buying some more till today.

The image is one of those common sights of how I look in the later hours of most nights.

I've made the the odd mistake here and there but I forgot how much I love inking with a brush (its been over 6 months).

Everything has been done by brush, even the signing and date, and it just feels really nice to work with.
